My First
I am very satisified with the new hot water heater which replaced an electric tank hot water heater. The gas company installed the new line for free and a a $1,000 rebate for instaling a gas tankless. I installed it myself having had never worked with gas before but the gas company and the building inspector were both impressed with the install. The very first thing I did was to turn on every hot water source in the house full blast and this unit kept up with the demand supplying the 120 degrees I had the unit set at. I researched and it came down between this unit and another well known brand - this condensing unit, while a little more in cost and a little heavier had the best energy rating and I look forward to energy $ savings. A condensing unit uses the hotter exhaust and recycles the heat which otherwise goes into the air, to help heat the water - more efficency, less hot exhaust into the air. I love it that I am not heating a tank full of water 24/7/365 with electric hog...

my gas bill has dropped by A LOT
So all of those reviews I've read who say their gas bill was only a little different, let me just say, mine went from $60 a month to $8 a month because of this water heater. I love how it doesn't go hot cold hot cold while you are showering. It stays at the exact same temp the whole time so you never have to touch the knob, unless you are turning the water off. It does take longer for the water to get hot, than my old tank heater (what's all this about it being "on demand"?) but that's not a big deal for me. My handy man couldn't figure out how to install it, so make sure you use a smart one.
