Hot water made simple
Wow, this is an impressive product. Tankless water heating has come a long way. Right out of the box this appliance is easy to install, has easy to understand controls. The key to success with the product is to pay close attention to sizing the gas supply piping correctly, installing the factory recommended venting, and calculating hot water flow demand and staying within the supply capability of the heater. In addition to water flow, install a water filter on the water supply if there is indication of debris. Hard water should be addressed before sending it to the unit.If you follow the install manual to the letter, you should be very satisfied with the product.

Works Great
It does the Job! Well built and designed. I have two bathrooms and it is able to supply all the hot water we need no problems in running several items at once that use hot water. I had it installed and it was easy according to the local plumbing company, looks good on the wall too...

Excellent product.
I installed this myself with some tools and knowledge borrowed from a master gas fitter. It was a very simple installation. I didn't run a return line, I don't live in Denver (anymore). the exhaust pipe I ran was under three feet. I can see why Rinnai wants only trained professionals installing; it could get very complicated. but I kept it simple.
runs very quiet and produces plenty of hot water. I'm not sure of the savings over the old power vented unit. My friend the gas fitter was dubious about savings, but I'm confident it will save a few hundred dollars a year, that old heater was costing me about 100 dollars a month in the winter.
I have quite short runs of pipe to my shower, kitchen sink, but the wait for hot water is noticeably longer, but re circulation lines would reduce the efficiency, so I'll live with it. Once the hot water starts flowing it's great
I had to run new pipes 3/4in steel because of the high BTUs. Mounting it was a bit awkward, but not...
