When its done right, works well
I got this dude to replace a 50 gal massive water heater that is minutes away from dumping 3 oceans of water on my new hardwood floors (or so my wife thinks). I didn't want to deal with installing the crazy expensive vent pipes through my attic and roof so I decided to put it outside. I chose a spot right next to the bathroom since one common complaint is the time it takes to get the hot water to the faucet with these tankless heaters. After getting all the water lines moved, gas hooked up, and electrical ran to the unit I cranked the thermostat to 120 and jumped in the shower. I was met with glorious hot water...for 30 seconds then succumbed to the icey frigid water sent from the depths of the Arctic. Frustrated and cold since it was around 35 degrees outside, I dry off and go outside to see what the heck is happening. Excellent tankless. Sensitive and plenty of flow.
I purchased this tankless after purchasing the eccotemp (don't waste your time on that). This is a wonderful heater. Remote is included as well, so you can adjust the temperature and even power down the unit from a distant location (must use a thermostat wire, 18/2).

What's so great about this? It keeps the water temperature at the desired temperature (up to 160, I think). No problem with flow etc. It heats up VERY quickly, so there is little wasted water. I am using it for an outdoor shower, where we already had a gas hookup for an old hot tub. Installation was quick and wiring was easy.

Warranty is 5 years parts and labor, 12 years heat exchanger, which is one of the best. Efficiency is at 84%. Now tankless heaters can have efficiency up to almost 100% (condensing heaters, they're called) so if you are using this to heat a lot of water, then calculate a 15% savings in gas for a better heater into your equation. Fantastic Product

This water heater came packaged well and was pretty easy to install. It is a shame that it doesn't include the high temp/pressure relief valve, but that is $20 at your local home improvement store.

Read and carefully follow the instructions and you'll do just fine.
