Customers say's :
Somewhat Disappointed
I bought this unit to replace an 8 year old Ariston 2.5G tank point-of-use, used only for hand washing. The DHC 4-2 works, but there is a noticable few second delay for heated water, and the temperatiure fluctuates from barely warm to being too hot while washing hands. S-E Tech support is generally very nice and attempts to be helpful, but no solution, and some suggestions were electrical nonsense (I'm an old electrical engineer). They did offer to replace the unit if I want to return it, but removing the unit, paying for shipping, and having to re-install is more hassle than I'm willing to undertake. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic compared to tanked POU. On the plus side, the unit is well constructed and of apparent very good quality.

best 20 amp point of service heater
For what is out there in the market, this is the best quality in a 240V 20A size. I tried others but they were primarily junk. I only wish they offered this size element in a temperature controlled model like the larger heaters. The water is way too hot and a temperature controlled external hot/cold water mix valve won't work in my application due to being on a lower water pressure private well at the end of a long supply line. In fact, when the well is at the low end of its pressure cycle the heater won't turn on due to lack of adequate volume flow (which a mix valve would make worse). My next modification will be a power relay and thermocouple for temperature control.

It works!!
Pretty ok, I ended up using this one for hot tap water to the kitchen and as a pre-heater for a 'CORAL http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026382Z4 shower head. Works good for a shower if the water is not too cold in the supply line. So pre heat it first and all is good, right? Right, works good but needs adjusting through the seasons. I am pretty sure I am saving on the electric bill. A solar pre-heater may save me more and provide more supply temp stability. Electricity is funny stuff- If you don't know what your doing....get someone who does, wire gauges and breakers are specific for a reason.
