Excellent heater
I bought this to replace my 13-year old Aquastar 125; the control interlocks in that wore out, and I couldn't find spares, nor could I find an exact replacement. I saved significant money by buying one that had been returned to Amazon for some reason, and it was in perfect, unused condition.
Know that this model of Rheem heater must be placed on the outside of the building; the vent on top exits directly to the outside, not through any kind of chimney. Rheem does sell an inset kit that allows you to inset it so the front is flush with the outside wall, however. I did not use this kit, but made my own arrangements, using the clear instructions about clearances provided.
Once I re-routed all the existing plumbing and provided a GFI outlet for power, I had to drill a small hole for the wiring for the remote control, which lives indoors.
The innards are incredibly complicated compared to the previous all-mechanical Aquastar, lots of circuit boards, wiring, fans, etc. But it...

One of my best purchases of 2013. Hot water city!

We had a Bosch tankless installed when we built our house 5 years ago. It had problems since the beginning. Finally, after years of trouble, I bought this. Oh man. Its so nice. Problem free! Indoor thermostat to control water temp or turn the unit offon. It heats enough water for a shower, 2 sinks, and a washing machine to run at the same time. That's the max load that I can test. Nice unit.
