Stiebel Eltron DHC 10-2 Going Strong
I purchased this back in June of 2010. I actually bought two of these to provide hot water to a studio unit that I rent to tenants. Rather than use each unit at point of use, I connected both of these together to provide hot water to the whole unit. Cold water from the main line goes into the first unit which warms the water. Then the warmed water goes to the 2nd unit which gets the water really hot and then sends it on through to a kitchenette faucet, bathroom faucet, and shower. This tankless-to-tankless system succeeds in sending a constant flow of scalding hot water to all of these taps. Both tankless water heaters have been in use since June 2010. The warranty is good for 3 years (although the setup that I have going is outside the manufacturer's recommended use).
I didn't buy my units from Amazon, I bought them from plumbersurplus.com so it's quite possible that the 2 reviewers on Amazon bought a couple of duds. I'm happy with both my DHC 10-2 tankless electric...
DHC 3-1 Don't waste your money
Not sure what the issue is, will not spend one more dime with plumbers or electricians on this unit. But it does not work. Sometimes after 5 minutes it will get warm, not hot. But who wants to waste 5 minutes of running the tap water while waiting.
