Works great and easy installation
Works great, connected mine to my 240v line, takes 10AUG wiring and a 30-40 amp double pole breaker. I have mine under my kitchen sink and also ran a line to an outdoor shower by the pool. No longer any cold water showers before going in my pool and getting out. My shower runs about 1.5 GPM and it was a toasty 118 degrees coming out of the shower. Had to remove the restrictor and now comes out about 105 degrees on full blast. At the sink and to the dishwasher, has no problems heating up to 130 degrees. Was going to install a mini hot water heater but with all the problems of leaks or not working according to other reviewers, went with this one, as this is highly reviewed in other models. As a side note, I live in SW florida with water temperature 72+ degrees year round. If buying in Canada or the north, you will need the .05 GPM restrictor on this most likely. Mine wouldn't work on my kitchen sink but it comes out hot enough anyway.

tankless a great idea, in practice, not really
Have 4 tankless heaters, one gas for the whole house, and three Electric for each bathroom to get hot water to the sinks faster. High cost, high current draw, fluctuations in temperature, and high maintenance all plague these units. Seals, circuit boards,thermistors,heating elements, flow sensors all go bad in a harsh water environment. But, if you want fast hot water, and don't want the expense of recirculation, it is your only choice. I have a low flow guest bathroom sink that had a seisco 9kw under the sink heater. After 2 circuit boards and a thermistor that went bad, I thought I should try this. I like the simplicity of this unit, either on or off, and the low cost. The size is small and the activation flow rate is .25 gpm which is the lowest of all comparable units. This is an important number because with a 1 GPM flow and a high flow activation, it's hard to get warm water. The documentation is all over the map, some places say 5.5 kW, some 6, and some 7. Does just what we wanted.
We bought the Ecosmart POU 6 55 KW tankless water heater to replace one (which is no longer manufactured) which died on us after many years of faithful service. We got the Ecosmart to supply hot water for the kitchen sink and dishwasher. It does a terrific job--hot water is generated quickly and it is nice and hot.

Since the water connections and electric wiring were already in place for the previous unit, installation was a breeze. I just had to get two 24" braided stainless steel water supply hoses (and two nipples), since the connections on the Ecosmart unit are more widely spaced than those on the previous unit. With these hoses in hand I just made the water connections, then made the electric connections in the junction box which was already in place, and we were in business. I flushed out the unit, turned on the electricity and the Ecosmart unit worked exactly as advertised. We've only had it a month or so, but so far it is working perfectly--our expectations have...

Packs a punch!

My fiancé and I recently bought a home and our electric hot water heater was nearly rusted through. Instead of using an enormous tank to heat water we thought it would be wise to go with a tankless system to help keep our bills lower. I was slightly apprehensive about trying this out but it was the direction that we wanted to take and I am beyond thrilled with the results. Hot water is never in short supply. I've had the shower on while running the washing machine without any dip in temperature. As a side note, I do keep it cranked at 140 degrees as my incoming water is pretty cold. It is an awesome machine! My minor complaint is that it takes about two minutes for hot water to start flowing. My words of advice are to consult with an electrician about hook-up and what needs you may have in your home and make sure to check your incoming water temperature to purchase the right model for your climate.

Works fine. Dropped my electric bill
I have installed this EcoSmart 24KW heater as a solar water heater backup. I ran two 3/4" EMT conduits and used 3 pairs of #8 copper for the installation. The EMT serves as the safety ground. (A note here: I ran 3 wires through each conduit, and the wires actually vibrated at 60Hz due to magnetic forces while on. I had to go back and change to 4 and 2 to stop this vibration!) My solar system preheats the water, and the EcoSmart 24KW just adds the necessary energy to bring the water up to 120 degrees F. The EcoSmart 24 KW even heats the water just fine with the solar system not heating on a cold cloudy January day. I have a 3.3 gal/minute shower head (I measured with a 5 gallon bucket & a stopwatch), and about a 65 degree input water temp. A comment here: it seems that it is better to adjust your shower temperature with the cold water only. If your shower is too hot, turn on some more cold. Too cold(?), turn off some cold. Works Great! Expensive to install.
I was in the market for a new water heater and was debating on going tankless because since being in my home, I've had 2 water heaters (10 years apart) flood my bedroom and ruin my wood floors on one occassion and most recently flood the hallway and laundry closet where my water heater is located (thankfully tiled). Good product, description needs help

I've had this in use for a week and a half after installing myself as a direct replacement for a different tankless heater. It works well and seems to be a high-quality product. Installation was super-simple. My only complaints are that the description and the manufacturer's web site fail to tell two things: (1) The product has a 30-inch pig-tail cable coming out of its housing, so you'll need an electrical box with terminal screws to connect it to your supply cable. I used an A/C pull-out box for about $8. (2) The warranty registration card requires the names, phones, and license numbers of both the licensed electrician and licensed plumber who installed. Thus the warrant is void if you install it yourself!

The product works great, instructions needs work
The heater is small, lightweight, and looks easy to install. 1/2" male pipe thread inlet/outlet looks simple until you read "Do not weld or use Teflon or paste" and goes on to say that if you do not follow instructions the warranty is invalid. 1/2" compression fittings are supplied to connect 1/2" copper pipe. I made all the connections without using Teflon tape or paste, connected to pressure and got leakage around the compression fittings. I tightened the fittings about a half turn of the nut and tried again with a smaller leak, I tightened one more time and still got a drip from each side. Again, I tightened another half turn and this time the compression nut broke on the inlet side. I worked almost four hours doing a job that should take no more than 30 minutes.

Takes a little getting used to it

I purchased this as it was the max I could get in my current electrical panel. One size up would probably have been better. My problem is alack of water pressure. I use well water and the pressure is not stable. I am working on that. The heater will work adequately filling a large whirlpool tub, it just takes a little longer. When you use all hot water then that is normal, and that is the most economical way to use this heater. I

I owned this product so far for a month and has been doing great. Excellent performance, consistently hot water and great energy savings. I installed it my self and I have a few tips:
Make sure you use #6 electric cable, it's the recommended and safer cable width. You will need three cables and a 60 amp breaker. For the water pipes. You will NOT need any water heater hose. You only need to adapt the house water pipes to the heater with pressure fitting (which are included with the water heater) make sure that after you install all, BUT before feeding the heater with electricity, open all the house hot and cold water faucets to remove all the air inside the pipes. THEN, feed it with the electricity. After this you will be amazed by its performance.

The only thing that I am concern is: how much time will this water heater will last without any problems? For me anything beyond 2 years is acceptable. Before 2 years will be very disappointing. So I will be informing you...

Here's my story review.
I live in a mobile community, one college guy who can't buy a real house. Lived here for 25 years, one day the bathroom looks all wet on the floor, walls stained. The old waterheater sprung a leak and had to go. No floor pan was installed back in the old days so it seems *slaps head*. I shopped around for waterheaters but there were $300< starting price range. I decided to shop around and my main influence is comments (yes like this one) and youtube reviews. Found out tankless ones might save me money. Plus the initial cost was amazing I paid less than $250 for my 11kw EcoSmart unit. I use a drip/drain pan just in case it leaks somehow on the floor. Works great! Saves space and money!
I own a 1500 square foot condo. Our 38 gallon water heater died and from hard water sediment I could not replace the electric coil. We looked into a "green" solution and found these tankless designs. After looking around the EcoSmart was really a great design and price. Through Amazom we were able to get it delivered next day using the "ship local" option. I installed it myself; made sure I had a #6 wire running to the box, I had to change my circuit breaker from a 30A to a 60A, very awesome of EcoSmart to include a template to drill the holes for mounting. Drilled the holes, mounted it on the wall, wired it up and ran the hoses.. vuala, hot water! This was a super easy install and the longest part was waiting for the old tank to empty.

I seriously consider this an upgrade as it is cheaper to run and we NEVER run out of hot water. No longer have to wait 10 minutes between showers in our house...

Looks Like It Will Be a Winner!!
This is the third electric tankless water heater with which I have had some experience. The first two were of a different brand, but I opted to go with this one for my most recent foray because of the price and the reviews.

Like any installation of an electric tankless water heater, it's always easiest to do when you're doing new construction. Trying to retrofit a home for one of these would be much more difficult just because of the electrical requirements. In this case, I was installing in a volunteer fire department where hot water isn't used everyday but when it is used, they need a large volume of it. So it seemed ideal to use an electric tankless water heater. Thankfully, the location for the heater wasn't too far from the breaker box, and it wasn't too difficult to run the wiring because of a dropped ceiling that gave access where needed.

This is the best Water heater I have ever had! Fairly easy install. Running the 8 gauge wires was a a little hard and putting in 2 double pole 40s in the box wasnt to bad. We live in idaho and the water temp in the winter comes into our house at 32 degrees and with this we have nice hot water!

EcoSmart ECO 27 - Pretty good, within limits
My electric tank-type water heater developed a leak, and after a lot of reading on the Internet I decided to replace it with a tankless unit from EcoSmart. I'm fairly handy, so I wanted to do the work myself. I bought the heater from Amazon for $453 and various electrical and plumbing supplies from Lowes and Home Depot for $251, for a total outlay of $704. Aside from the tankless unit, the biggest expense was the wire.

Tearing out the old tank heater was easy and only took about a half hour. Mounting the EcoSmart unit in the same place as the old heater and creating the new plumbing connections with copper pipe took about 4 hours. Although 240-volt wiring was left over from the old heater, the 12-gauge wire was too thin, and there was only one 30-amp circuit available. The EcoSmart unit I bought needs three 40-amp circuits and 8-gauge wire. My breaker box is located about 30 feet away from the water heater location, so I had to string 3 lengths of 8-gauge, 2-conductor wire...

ECO27 Details and Conversion to Boiler Mode - In Depth
Some information about this unit (and the entire product line) is sparse, and numerous people have posted inaccurate information as well. First, RTFM. EcoSmart provides a wealth of information online, and all of us would do well to check their site before posting bad information.

I have two of these units, one for DHW (Domestic Hot Water) and the other to operate our whole house hot water baseboard system. Some information is hard to find, and other information is a closely guarded secret and cannot be obtained anywhere online. I'll focus on these areas.

The unit is rated at 27KW at 240 volts. Internally, it is three separate 9KW heaters, operating in series and in sequence based on demand. The unit is truly self-modulating and will not provide more heat than the load requires.

Best One On The Market
Being that my whole house is entirely electric and I can't get gas here, I reveiwed and researched the electric whole house water heaters. I have three kids and 2.5 baths. That means I usually don't get a hot shower until now. This unit is great. Saved me money the first month. I went to home depot and changed my shower heads out with 1.5 gpm heads and adjusted the flow of the big tub so that now we can take two showers at the same time. I can fill the big tub and not run out. Just pay attention to the flow of your tub/faucet/etc. It takes a week or soo to get used to setting your water in the shower. For example, during two showers both are set as all hot. During one shower add a little cold. You will enjoy the unit. They addressed all the downfalls of the electric side of whole house tankless water heaters. Research it out, you will not be disappointed.
